Our technical staff are also encouraged to use pencil / paper and sketch away from the computer and create working relationships by consistently talking to the design team direct.
Masterplanning & Planning Support
We work in an integrated project team creating sustainable places that meet the needs of future communities. We combine a wide ranging knowledge of land promotion and development to maximise opportunities for urban extension, new communities and regeneration. Our team provide specialist technical advice in support of the planning process, tailored to meet the specific requirements of our clients.
Our team uses trusted software to produce surface and foul drainage strategies that can be implemented through the planning process, technical approvals (i.e. section 104) and to construction. Our expertise allows us to design SuDS features that can be integrated to the development masterplan. We undertake developer enquiries to statutory authorities to establish post-development flows and volumes, capacity and connections.
We provide clients with a service from initial feasibility to preparing detailed designs to enable technical approval and sectional agreements (section 38 & 278 for example). We use software to produce 3D designs that meet the requirements of the highway authority, compliance with DMRB standards and the guidance set out in Manual for Streets. Our team can assist in the tender and construction stages, including on-site supervision.
Our software allows us to produce a 3D model of the proposed design, of which a number of options can be assessed, that can be interrogated against the site topography, to achieve the optimum earthworks design. The ultimate objective being to minimise off-site disposal of material, which contributes to a reduction in development costs and shortens the programme. This also has added environmental benefits in reducing road haulage and landfill disposal.
