Morgan Structural recently attended a careers convention at Gordano secondary school. Along with Joe Vyse, our STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) ambassador (below left), Director Barry Morgan (below right) gave interested pupils the opportunity to find out more about Structural Engineering using presentations, simple structural forms and face to face discussions.
‘Most of the young people didn’t know anything about Structural Engineering, there was quite a bit of interest from the floor which hopefully they will follow through with. It was great just to feel like we had educated young people at a critical time in their career decision making’ – Barry Morgan (Director Morgan Structural)
‘Gordano School’s Annual Careers Convention took place on Thursday 5th October. Pupils from Years 9 –13 were invited into school to meet with a range of different businesses and to learn more about their options for higher education, apprenticeships and to get more information about future career choices.
The evening included contributions from around 50 different external businesses, ranging in fields of interest including engineering, apprenticeships, graphic design, mechanics, higher education courses, construction and housing.’ – Gordano school news
